          Our Process

          Our collaboration starts with understanding the project requirements and client requirements to help Voxel1 BIM develop a detailed technical and commercial proposal.

          A thorough understanding of the client’s expectations will result in scope and deliverable definition done by the Voxel1 BIM team. Some of the key items typically discussed at this stage of the project stage are category, configuration, scale, schedule, milestones, etc.

          Voxel1 team takes lead in communicating the process and timelines with all project stakeholders and organizes the required meetings to get the project kicked off as per the timelines.

          All project-specific milestones and delivery timelines are defined and mutually agreed upon as part of the contracting stage. Voxel1 BIM team deploys additional resources based on the project requirements to ensure timely delivery.

Hardware

Finding the right hardware to be able to comfortably develop and manage the memory intensive BIM Models is necessary to avoid becoming counter productive and failing in the implementation process.

Planning for an organizational level hardware upgrade is better done progressively using a phased roll out based on the technology upgrade plan. The software vendor and resellers recommendations usually only cater for medium level hardware to best fit in the budget. Hence, it is important to understand the scale and category of projects the organization is involved and make the right decision on the hardware.

Apart from the server requirements, the workstations can be broadly classified into 3 major categories;

Production Hardware

This is arguably the most powerful piece of hardware to be made available for the functional teams. These workstations are used for developing the BIM Models or to analyze and carryout the said BIM activity for the organization. These are expected to be able to manage working in multiple BIM Models at a time to make the process more efficient.

Review & Presentation Hardware

Reviewing and presenting BIM Models do not require a fully loaded hardware. Typically in a review process, BIM Models are opened in a lighter version of the software or a non-editable model will be exported with less information and file size. These workstations can be significantly lower in specifications and are provided to the management and designer teams.

Mobile Equipment

All major BIM Tools currently support touch screen mobile devices to be able to open and maneuver through the BIM Model with ease. Given the availability of low cost touch enabled devices currently in the market, it is advice to provide the same for the on-site staff and marketing teams to be able to present the BIM Models as needed.
